King Theodoric
A story that looks far ahead
King Theodoric has his roots in the earth, in the truest sense of the term.
The building that now houses the restaurant was originally the home of a farmer: a silent presence on Colle San Pietro, surrounded by olive trees, vines and vegetable gardens.
In the fifties, with the arrival of the first funicular, a group of entrepreneurs sensed its potential and transformed the building into a restaurant, thus opening one of the first panoramic points of the city dedicated to hospitality.
From 1960 to 2011, the restaurant was managed by the Florean family, who helped make it a point of reference for generations of Veronese and visitors.
In 2011 a new chapter began: the current management has chosen to take up this legacy and bring it into the present, with an eye to the future. The link with the city, with local cuisine and with authentic hospitality has remained intact — but it has been renewed in tone, style, experience.
Today as then, Re Teodorico is a place to stop to breathe in the beauty of Verona, taste its truest flavors and feel at home, even from afar.
